ABS plastic pipes vs copper for repiping job
I’ve received several quotes (some from a few years ago) and one today to repipe the kitchen and laundry room lines, and to replace the main line from the house to the city connection. Most contractors have said they’d use copper. Contractor who did some repair work for me today said ABS plastic is better for kitchen/utility room lines and another type of plastic for the main line.
Would appreciate thoughts/suggestions if plastic/copper is better. Thanks.
You got to get your pipes strait!!!
Waste/drain pipe vs. water pipe.
DWV (drain, waste, and vent) can be ABS, PVC, or cast iron.
Your water lines (in the house) can be copper or PEX (plastic) which would is way cheaper and easier to run than copper.
Your water line outside the house can be run with PVC, PEX or type L copper.
