Adjusting the water line length under kitchen sink.
Adjusting the water line length under kitchen sink. Problem is I have an old house the their not tubes their copper pipe all the way up to the faucet. Well I replaced my counter and sink this weekend and my new faucet will not reach the pipes. I need about 1/4 inch. what should I do? cut the pipe lower and weld a nipple for a hose or is their an easier way.
Generally there is only 2 sizes of copper that actually connect straight to the faucet. 1 being 1/2 inch and the other being 3/8. In my experiences the best way to lengthen your 3/8 line would be a 3/8 compression coupling. One end goes on the old supply line and the other end goes to the new braided supply line going to your faucet.(get stainless steel braided supply lines the plastice one are very cheap.) If you have 1/2 copper all you need is 2 compression stops(shutoff valves) They compress straight on your copper line and connect straight to your new supply lines. very easy to install.
