Car front end vibration at certain speed

October 28th, 2009

When driving at a certain speed and you feel that your car front end vibrates and the rear end is not, it indicates problem.

Usually this kind of problem can be traced to out of balance front wheel , as you can see when rims and tires that manufactured sometimes are not balance in terms of weight distribution, that is why during assembly of tire, it is subjected to wheel balancing to compensate for the out of balance wheel cause by manufacturing error.

If the front wheel of your car is out of balance, it will not rotate evenly when your car is being driven thus vibration occurs.

Also, at a certain speed the vibration becomes severe causing your car front end components to vibrate as well and become noticeable on your part.

To correct the problem, bring your vehicle to a reputable shop and have your front wheel balanced.

Two methods is use for wheel balancing, the first one is the static balancing where your car wheel assembly is taken-off your car and put it into a balancing machine to have it balanced, the other method is the dynamic balancing where in your car wheel assembly is balance even it is not taken-off your car.

Either of the two can be used to balance your car front wheel, but the latter is the best method to use because it considers the influence of your car brake disc or brake drum in terms of wheel balancing.
