cast iron drain 4″

January 27th, 2010

My Problem is that I have a cast iron drain behind the kitchen sink and
it leaks from a crack. I believe the crack is down to the cement where
the pipe is coming out of. The bathroom sink also ties into the cast iron pipe. There is a pipe coming down from the top of the roof that is the vent and ties into the cast iron drain.

My questionis how do I convert this cast iron pipe to pvc?

Open the wall up cut out the cast iron and replace it with PVC right through the roof. Use either a fernco donut or a proflex coupling to transition at the floor.
