copper drain

October 24th, 2009

I have a copper drain coming from the main stack. All bathroom drains lead to it. I am attempting to move one sink about 6 ft. further away. Can i just use a rubber boot to connect the pvc to the copper drain line? And will the copper be ok when i use the hose clamps? (Afraid of putting a kink in the copper)

You are not going to kink the copper, although you could cause a deflection where you join it. You must use the proper coupling, not just a “one size fits all” Fernco rubber boot.
