Disconnecting Heat Pump

February 18th, 2010

I have a Carrier “Infinity” central air system with a heat pump. The contractor that installed my system didn’t/wouldn’t pour a concrete pad under my heat pump. Now my heat pump has a severe lean. I want to disconnect the heat pump and move it so that I can pour a pad under it. I was given a hint by an HVAC tech that there is a way to disconnect the freon lines without losing any gas to the environment but he wouldn’t elaborate for free.

Does anyone know how to do this?

many thanks

It’s not that easy. The homeowner still can not perform this job.

They just out your unit on dirt ? Does the owner of the company know this.

You should be able to with some help lift up one side at a time and level out the dirt and slide some pavers under it. “Like the 2′X2′ sized ones”.
