Doesn’t start washer Kenmore 417.90802990
Hello Appliance blog forum my name is Alex and I have a kenmore stackable washer and drier unit and its a 220 electrical unit. We where using it earlier we washed two loads and then it stopped working. But the drier still works fine. I started to open the front door to see what it was come to find out that the wire that comes from the pull knob had come loose and touch the metal part of the unit and created a spark because I can see it. I tested the capacitor and it works fine but the unit doesn’t come on. can you please help what can I do is it the pull knob swict or is there a fuse some where in there that I am not aware of Thanks for taking the time to read my post

Thanks for the reply to my post I found what the problem was. apperantly when the power shorted when it hit the matel cover it created a short at the harnest where it connects fromthe control know to start the washer. you can see it where it shorted out because the harnest is clear. ended up fixing it but yeah you where on it to check where the power leaves from the start know.(balck w/stripe 10G wire)was the problem. Thanks just thought i let you know.
