First U.S. GT-R Owner Takes Delivery

November 5th, 2009

We’re used to movie, video game, and book releases occurring at midnight, but a new-car delivery? Daryl Alison of Costa Mesa, California, was handed the keys to his black 2009 GT-R at 12:01 am Pacific on July 7, 2008, the first official day of GT-R sales.
Alison is the first U.S. customer to take delivery of Nissan’s twin-turbo V-6 sports coupe. The ceremony took place at Universal City Nissan in Los Angeles, one of a select few GT-R Certified Nissan stores in the country.
As of the first day of sales, more than 1700 U.S.-bound GT-Rs have been spoken for, or about 70 percent of cars allocated for the country, so it’s not too late to get in line.
