Furnace vent replacement
I’m trying to find information on furnace venting, and am having trouble finding anything comprehensive.
I have a 10 year old house with a gas furnace, and Type B (Simpson Duravent) exhaust venting running from the furnace in the garage, up along an exterior wall of the second floor, and out through the roof.
The problem is that the entire system is corroded and falling apart, so I need to replace the ducting (yeah, I know it doesn’t happen very often, but I think the roof cap wasn’t well sealed and water was leaking down between the two walls for the last ten years).
So my question is, is all Type B venting interchangeable? Is it possible to use parts from two different manufacturers? And does anyone have recommendations on where to find the vent pipe retail?

Most ‘B’ vent is not interchangeable between brands. Some manufacturers do make adaptors to connect theirs to other brands.
