Gas dryer no heat

My gas dryer won’t heat. Everything else works fine.Blah, Blah Blah. You’ve heard it before. We’ll I jumped the gun and decided to just put a flame by the igniter bar to see if that got it going. Whoops. I touched the bar and zzzzzzz, fried it. So i need a new bar for sure. Since then, i’ve tested everything–there is 110 to the igniter bar, and continuity everywhere else…. but i’m not getting it at the coils around the solenoid: however when i disconnect and connect them during the cycle or slide it on or off, i hear the solenoid engage as it “grabs on”. it just clicks once and that’s it. It is VERY hot though, so i think that’s the problem, but, like i said i hear it working, so i’m not positive.

You needed a new glowbar because you broke it. The old coils while they may work initially will fail if they get hot. Since the dryer relys on constant work from these coils I would suggest you go ahead and put them on there. Unless you just like messing with cantankerous dryers.
