Help! Have a Lincoln Welder & need hookup help…
I have a 50 AMP Lincoln 175 mig welder that is currently hooked up (installed by a professional) via an outlet just under the breaker box & an approx 20′ extension with another compatible outlet to the welder.
I am in the process of moving & want to remove the outlet & take it with me to hook up at the new house. I am not an electrician by any means but do have common sense & intelligence… Any advice for the novice in the proper safety measures in removing this outlet? Do’s & don’ts are what I am looking for… I have to have this out tomorrow (monday) so any fast responses appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Turn off breaker to receptacle.
Varify power is off.
Remove receptacle.
If box is metal, leave ground wire connected to box.
Put wire nuts on the end of each wire.
Put blank cover on box.
Label cover with breaker # etc so next guy knows what it is. Leave breaker off.
