How does the plastic piece attach to the icemaker?

November 18th, 2009

I don’t have this icemaker in hand, so I can’t tell how the plastic piece is attached to the icemaker. Does this take a different kind of icemaker from the normal? Thanks for any help.

not to sound ignorant or insulting, but WHICH plastic piece you refering to?

if its the scrapper/tray ( big white piece on the side) you have to take off the module and the black piece, then pull the scrapper out of the slot in the back of the icemaker mold. if its the type of ice maker i think it is, there is a piece of plastic NOT shown in your picture, its the white tray the icemaker sits in. that is held on by three screws on the bottom, should be three holes on the bottom of the icemaker.

Whats the model number?

If its the type used with optical boards they are slightly different from normal icemakers. mainly they make two types; a 8 cube one and a 5 or 6 cube design. they both work with optical boards that monitor ice level in icebins located on the door of freezer compartment.
