is it that time again???

November 21st, 2009

i am in north texas, more than likely we have had our last freeze. is it time to put down pre-emergent weed control yet? is “lesco” the best out there? do i just need to do that one application, then something else post-em?
my lawn is bermuda and have SOME dallis grass, SOME dandelions and the stuff that kinda looks like clover (has purple blossoms on it)…how is that for technical?

on the dallis grass question…someone told me about a product called “image”…said that will actually kill dallis grass and nothing else around it????

Hi,
The purple little flowers is “Henbit” Grows in Ok like crazy.
Yes, now is the time to treat with preemergence.(feb. 15- apr.1)
There is some broadleafed weeds already sprouting so you will want to mix some postemergence with that as well.
To get good control you should make another app. around apr.-may but before it gets to hot. This also would be a good time to fertilize as well.
As for what type of product you should use, just read the label before you purchase it. The label will tell you what it kills.
