KDS-36 won’t drain all the way.

November 18th, 2009

I got a Oldie KDS-36 kitchenaid Superba by hobart (It’s sink/dishwasher combo – I don’t know the year). It came along with the house and my wife and I felt in love with it…but now it is not draining all the way, there is a bit of water that just sits there at the botton. I am no wiz but everything seems in order: I checked drains, pipes, power connectors and all the usual suspects…If you “push cancel/drain” it will drain most of the water, but sometimes you got to do that a few times… I am thinking it might be the controller…my wife is thinking of getting a new one…please help

I can’t locate that model#. It sounds like your pump is wearing out. It would cost more to fix it than its worth. I would have to agree with your wife on this one.

If its over 20 years old like I think it is. The new ones are much more energy efficient as well, you’ll see a drop in your electric bill with a new one.
