Kenmore Icemaker Shut Off arm Problem

I replaced the ice maker about 2-3 months ago and was having no problems until…

The other day I found that the ice maker was not ejecting ice. So I removed the module and cleared out the ice and it started making ice. But the shutoff arm was no longer dropping down by itself to 6 o’clock. If I pushed it then the ice would eject. But, again, the arm would not drop. So I took it out and the arm seemed very stiff. I worked it up and down a few times and it loosened up just fine. But when I checked it later the arm had again become stuck at about 4 o’clock and no longer ejecting ice. The arm movement is again very stiff. It’s almost as if it is freezing up.

Would taking it out again and letting it sit at room temp. for a while possible help? Could there be some water sitting internally that is making it freeze up?
Thanks.

Yes, taking the ice maker out and letting it sit at room temp. might do it, Its possible some ice/frost got jammed in the arm linkage inside the ice maker module, you might also want to take the cover off the front of your ice maker to check for ice inside that as well.
