Kitchen Aid Range/Oven does not function
I have a Kitchen Aid Duel Fuel Range Oven, Model # KDRP407HSS13, about two years old. A couple times since I’ve had the oven it would power down and not respond, so I reset the circuit breaker and the oven came back on. A couple months ago the oven went off and will not come back on. The stovetop works fine, oven does absolutely nothing. I purchased the oven from Best Buy, and have been dealing with them for two months as they come and replace parts (Control Board, Power Transformer, and Control Knobs) but still nothing out of the oven. Now they are saying that my warranty has expired and they can’t do anything about it. Any idea what the problem might be? Do you know where I can get a service manual for this oven?
Your range has a thermal fuse located behind the control panel similar to the one used in this post. If all those parts have been replaced, and it still isn’t working, I would check this fuse. I don’t have the replacement part number handy as it would take a bit of research, but you can easily check it with a meter and see if it is open or not. I would expect a tech to check that first, but I know plenty of them that don’t even know it’s there. Try and check it out and let us know what you find.
