Lightning surge

March 3rd, 2010

Earlier this year our home was hit by an electrical surge-lightning on incoming electrical lines. Our usage has doubled since last year at this time. The only added appliances are a computer, a used electric dryer, a new freezer- replaced 25 year old model. My question is should I have the electric company replace the meter? or is the problem elsewhere?

electric dryers use alot of electricity if your home is like ours and u dry a load of cloths at lest once a day its quite possable that its the dryer the caused the increase in power consumption. if u dont use the dryer much then call your utility company and have them check it out whin u call them mention that u were hit with lighting, and since your electric useage has doubled
