Long term grub problem

November 18th, 2009

I have been losing a good portion of my front lawn every year for at least the last 5 years. The problem is grubs. I have tried everything known to man, both chemical and biological. This includes Grubex, Merit, Diazinon, beneficial nematodes, Milky Spore, and a couple others I can’t remember. Nothing works. Each August, large patches of my lawn die within a few days and when I dig up the dead parts, I find hundreds of grubs. I have an in ground sprinkler system which runs daily thanks to our very sandy soil. My next door neighbor has similar conditions and treats his lawn the same way and has not had the same problems. Can anyone help?

Sounds like you have tried everything. Contact your local Dept. of Agriculture Extension Agent for recommendations in your area. While you are at it, get a copy of the recommended lawn maintenance schedule for your area.
