We have recently gotten this used dishwasher and in reading other threads I think that we have the same control panel/ribbon problem that other models have. power is good through out the machine up to and including the panel. Intermitantly and for no reason some panel lights will be on but no cycle ever activates.
Yes, you will need a new control panel assembly.
Its fairly easy to install, just remove the screws that hold it to the inner door liner, and install it(comes with the ribbon cable). If anything mounts to it from the inside just take it from the old one and put it exactly in the same place as the new one.
