Maytag side-by-side MZD2667HES

October 16th, 2009

Last night came home from work, all food thawed freezer not getting cold enough. Heard humming and a continuous “clicking” sound ever 10 seconds or so. Replaced relay/overload and capacitator with same model for my fridge. Noise disappeared and was quiet. I know nothing about refrigerators except for this vast wisdom and insightful info you are providing, phenominal!
Now that i have found you, my dilema still stands & I have same problem, just no noise or clicking.. My condensor fan runs always, is this supposed to be this way?
You have given me confidence that i can certainly learn to do this myself or at least take action to attempt its resolve before whining for a repair person to take too much money. Any suggestions ?

If the Condenser Fan is running, the Compressor should be running.

If you could check the resistance of the (3) Compressor terminals.

They should be somewhere between 3 OHMS and 5 OHMS between the terminals.
