need help roto-tilling
I’m in the process of roto-tilling my yard could someone please help me with what to do next . I’d like to install new sod .
1. Kill all weeds with Round Up.
2. Rototill
3. Remove rocks & debris. Rake.
4. Get soil sample. (Call local Dept. of Agriculture Extension Agent to find out how. While you are at it, you can collect their publication on lawn maintenance in your area.)
5. Apply fertilizer, phosphorous, potassium based on soil test. Work into soil 4-6″ deep before laying sod.
6. Moisten soil. Don’t overwet.
7. Stagger strips in a brick like fashion or like hardwood floors. Ends should tip, not overlap. Avoid cracks by not stretching sod.
8. Thoroughly water after installation.
9. Water lightly every day for 2-3 weeks. Once established, you can water more and go for longer intervals between watering.
