Replacing double pole line thermostat with programmable

October 28th, 2009

I recently purchased a TH115-A-240D (Aube) programmable thermostat. I noticed that it does not have a ground screw attached to the thermostat (my old thermostats were all grounded to the metal box gounding screw). The line and load lines are obvious, but the instructions do not mention anything about a ground screw attached to the thermostat . Any feedback would be helpful before I contact the vendor.
Thanks

Many devices are all plastic so they do not require a ground wire. If there is no green screw and the install instructions do no mention a ground wire, it is okay to just push the grounds to the back of the box and do not connect them to the thermostat. The existing grounds should of course be connected to each other and to the box if metal.
