replacing winshield motor, 97 chevy 4×4
is there a post already on here that has directions or does anyone have some they can email showing how to do this. trust me im no mechanic and dont claim to be one. i dont have a clue so any help would be appreciated.
Most times a malfunctioning Chevy windshield wiper motor does not need to be replaced. There is a circuit board inside it called a pulse control module that is usually the culprit. It is a 5 minute job (some screws) and $30 to replace the part. They are found in the HELP! section of common replacement parts at Autozone & others. I made the mistake of replacing the whole motor the first time mine went out in my Silverado. It was a pain in the butt to screw around with the linkage, and it didn’t really solve the problem permanently anyway. The next time I just replaced the pulse control module and no worries since. I also did it on my wife’s Chevy van when hers went out. The simple directions are on the package.
