Running hot water faucet in bathtub

My bathtub hotwater faucet will not turn completely off, and there is hot water running. I live in a condo and I own. Does anyone no the approximate cost to fix this? What can I do?
Its not the cost it takes to fix it, but rather the money you will save by having it repaired, using factory repair parts and components.
Much depends on the original manufacturer, how old it is and how well it has been maintained over the years. Is it a dual handle faucet or a single handle mixer? Which Brand and what model.
Knowing this information ahead of time will save the plumber from that extra trip that costs.
