we wanted to install siding before the framing inspection so called to have verification of window code approval and fin inspection.

the building inspector was there and mentioned we’ll want to change the nail stop plate on the vents before the framing was checked since they were for electrical only and they required bigger ones.

There are two larger Simpson nail stoppers…….PSPN58Z which is 5″ x 8″ and the PSPN516Z which is 5″ X 16″…

Can I use the smaller one and when is the larger one used?

use the smaller one.

the larger one’s primary use is when the framing member has been notched to accept the pipe.
