Frigidaire Washer/Dryer Stack

January 31st, 2010

I have a Frigidaire Heavy Duty Extra Large Washer/Dryer Stack, 2 speed 3/4 hp motor. I don’t see a model number. (there is a place on the dryer door that is sticky and looks like a sticker use to be there.)

Sometimes the washer would still be full of water after the end of a cycle, but that seemed to be when I did a lot of laundry in one day. I couldn’t just turn it to spin again, the water would still be in there. I figured out that if I waited several hours and started the cycle again, it would work. (Like my washer was worn out from too much laundry! lol)

Now, after the washer is filled with water and starts to agitate it is VERY loud and is when it is spinning as well (same noise I believe). I put it on spin to get the water out and when it was done, it smelled a little like it was burning. We’re hoping that it’s not the motor, but something simple or cheaper. So, it spins just fine and agitates fine, other than the horrible noise.

I would appreciate any information!!

Unfortunatly, thats what it sounds like. The motor.
OK, I looked up a Frigidaire Laundry Center and it looks like the model tag is suppose to be on the end of the dryer door. Right where your sticky spot is. If you remove the screws in the angled panel right above the washer there should be a big yellow envelope taped to the back of it. Inside is the tech sheet and wiring diagram. It may have the part number of the motor. Also the part number might be on the motor itself. How old is this machine and how much use does it get. The model I looked up is a top load washer and not a front load model.

Replacing Lid Switch On Whirlpool Top Load

January 4th, 2010

Model Number: RAS7133KQ0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years

——————————————————————————–

Ok, determined it was the Lid switch the other day, ordered it and it arrived in a few days GREAT SERVICE!! Now I tried to pry up the lid top by inserting a screwdrived in the front lid. Didn’t seem to want to pop up. I don’t want to damage the lid. So what is this OLD MAN doing wrong please???

The top does not pop on this puppy, instead you remove the outer case. How? Check it out you remove the screws holding down the control panel on top and it flips upa lid switch quick connect.jpgYou then unplug the lid switch as shown and pop them S clips. This will allow ya to tip the case forward and remove it. Then that part will be easy as pie to get to and replace.

dryer stops in the middle of a load

October 25th, 2009

Model Number: lgr5620kq1 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 – 10 years

My dryer seems to overheat during the cycle. I have checked the exhaust and it is all clear. Have actually checked the temp coming out of the dryer at 200 F. What controls the actual temp of the machine (cycles)?

The operating thermostat control the temperature. It operates by turning the heater off and on while the dryer is tumbleing in the heat cycle. It sounds like the motor is overheating and shutting off.If you can get at the motor make sure it clean.Clear any lint build up around the motor.Once it is cleaned try the dryer. If it stops in the middle of the cycle the motor may need replacement.
