My back yard has overgrown and has lots of weeds, clover and others I didn’t take care of it for over a year. Now I want my grass back!! What can I do? I’m planning to put new grass seeds I bought (Perennial grass) and I don’t know how to start just bought a grass trimmer and started cutting it but it’s all weeds!!! Please help!!! A doctor can’t do much in a garden but sunny Mexico outgrows weeds fast. Please send me as much info as you can even tools for starting out I can see grass with roots over the ground and the soil is hard do I have to dig into it? how deep? I want to start now the rainy season has started and I want it to work with my lawn Thanks a lot!!

1.You will need to kill the weeds before any seeds are planted. You could get a weed killer from the hardware store, weed b gone, and attach to your hose and apply, if you want to do it yourself.
2.You can also hire a lawn care company to do the work for you.If you go this route, theymight suggest killing the whole area, then tilling, and reseeding. Another sugestion would be to get a company to give an estimate for the work, then you wil be able to see if it is a job you would want to do or hire it out to someone
3.After the weeds are dead and you wait the required amount of time that it states on the label, I would recommend that you rent a slit-seeder, from a rental store, and apply the seed to rates on the selected seed package of seed, also a starter fertilizer should be applied at this tims. You would need to plant the seed that grows well in your area.THE WATERING OF NEWLY PLANTED SEEDS IS IMPORTANT.I would recommend getting the seed from a nursery rather than a store chain, the seeds are better quality. Then you would plant the seed at the best time for germination of the seeds.
4. After the lawn is growing, you will need to fertilize, at first I would suggest that if you do it yourself, you hire a lawn fertilizing company to apply the fertilizer at proper times, so the root system can be estabilished, and you will be able to enjoy a lush lawn,
