VW passate A/C problem

can any one help me please
i have a VW passat 96 gls 6cly the A/C blows cold air for a few minutes and the stops blowing cold air i checked with the gauge from INTERDYNAMICS and it is in the YELLOW 55psi what could be the problem
Are you hooking this gauge to the low side service port? If so 55psi is a little high. Is this where it is the entire time, even when is it blowing cold? You may need a proper diagnosis from an A/C shop.
