Water in Refrigerator

January 24th, 2010

I have a Kenmore 18 cu ft refrigerator that I would guess is around 10 years old (I can’t remember exactly how old). Recently, I notice water on the floor in front of and underneath the refrigerator. I traced the water source to the inside of the refrigerator. There is a shallow well on the bottom of the inside (under the crisper drawers). That well now fills up until it overflows. I thought it might have been the humidity this summer but I am sure we’ve had humid days and humid summers in the past ten years.

Does anyone know why my refrigerator is now getting filled up with water? We have to use a sponge to soak up the water every so often before it spills. This is the first time we’ve noticed this condition since we’ve had this refrigerator.

I did not include the model number of the refrigerator since I figured this issue may not be model specific.

your drain from the freezer is clogged …… defrost water has to go somewhere , when this is working right its down a drain line to a pan under the fridge …… some KEN-POOLS have a little funnel behind the controls in the fridge that just unplugs to clean it out ……. send mod # that will make it easy to see just what you have
