Our 14 year old top loading Estate washing machine has started making a hellacious knocking sound during the rinse cycle. I took it apart but do not seeing anything obviously wrong. There is nothing broken, the gasket is in good shape. It seems to be balanced okay. I have never worked on a washing machine before so I’m in need of some infinite wisdom. In other words, where do I begin………?
You mean it’s knocking while spinning? Check the suspension springs. The front left one and the rear one are prone to breaking.
