Windows 95 locks up using extensive graphics

November 14th, 2009

Hi, I have another problem with another computer of mine, its running Windows 95 and its just recently started to display on a small number of colours and also locks up when any application tries to use mid-range to intensive graphics.

I figure one problem could be an outdated driver for the graphics card needing to be updated. But there could also be another problem?

Well, hardware itself could be failing but the most likely scenario is software/drivers.

First step would be to delete the Video adapter from Windows Device manager, reboot and let Windows reinstall what it thinks is the right one. If that doesn’t help, then you’ll need to tell us more about the computer hardware.
