windows won’t start up

October 11th, 2009

i had a pretty nasty case of spyware – the ultimate cleaner fake anit-spyware spyware. the computer slowed down tremendously. pop-ups and fake windows alerts were springing up everywhere. i went on a different computer (the one i’m on now) and was reading how to get rid of it and trying to get some help from a few sites. i was strongly recommended true sword, but in retrospect, i think they were just trying to get me to buy true sword. i ran the program in safe mode and i’m not sure if it did anything because when i tried to start my computer up normally, windows doesn’t start up. it begins the process of starting then stops and starts it all over again – it’ll just keep cycling like this forever without starting up. is this part of the spyware? did true sword corrupt a file that windows needs to open? please help.

Can you start in safe mode with web support or just safe mode? If so there is hope. One other thing,do you have a windows xp cd retail version or just an OEM version that came with your computer?
